After our sweet escape to the Swiss Alps, we eventually had to go back with clear goals in mind. We needed to retrieve our car from Siargao, which had been used to transport relief supplies, and second to find a permanent residence. Europe, while enchanting, was too costly for the lifestyle we envisioned. It was time to leave our safe haven and start the search for our ideal home in the Philippines.
Siargao was off our list after the stormy ordeal of our last visit, and we had run out of options in the Mindanao region. So, we decided to return to Port Barton in Palawan, where my partner and I first met. Upon arrival, we found it both humorous and tragic that they had just been hit by a strong storm. On the bright side, this gave us another chance to snag a cheap hotel for a long-term stay.
So, I took my time and decided to relax and enjoy the island while we planned our next potential home and brainstormed business ideas. The coastline of Port Barton is stunning, and if I felt like island hopping, the nearby islets offered invigorating escapes, like Inladelan Island, White Beach and Starfish Island . It is worth the if you hate crowds but dont wanna be too secluded.
